Job description

The role is for engineers in the Live Ads Management team at Netflix, focusing on building high-performance ad systems for live events. The team aims to enhance ad delivery through innovative technology and seamless integration with Netflix's content delivery ecosystem. Engineers will work on dynamic ad insertion and automation to optimize live event monetization. This position requires collaboration across various teams to ensure a quality viewing experience while monetizing live content.

Requirements

  • Experience in streaming/content delivery, programmatic advertising, DAI, or broadcast/live ad workflows.
  • Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems in the cloud using modern languages and technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and influence across teams.
  • Strong technical communication and collaboration skills, especially with Ad Ops, Player, and Data Science partners.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and scale systems that support diverse live event formats and real-time ad delivery across global audiences.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Ad Serving, Forecasting, Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Player teams to deliver seamless DAI experiences.
  • Build robust automation for availability checks, manifest creation, and real-time optimization of live event monetization.
  • Develop cloud-native services and AI-driven agentic workflows to enhance operational efficiency and ad yield.
  • Ensure advertiser brand safety, viewer experience integrity, and system reliability during live broadcasts.
  • Contribute to the broader Netflix Ads Platform vision by influencing architecture, standards, and live ad tech evolution.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
