Job description

The Data Science Manager - Games Product and Platform at Netflix will lead a team of Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to enhance the gaming experience on the platform. This role focuses on developing data strategies, measurement, and experimentation for game products and platform features. The manager will work closely with product teams to drive insights that shape the overall games strategy. A blend of data science expertise and strong business acumen is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing highly technical individual contributors in data science and analytics.
  • A deep understanding of data science, analytics engineering, and business analytics.
  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to influence senior leaders across various disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence both technical and business leaders.
  • A Ph.D. or advanced degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the measurement, analytics, and experimentation strategy for games specific discovery features.
  • Drive experimentation for games specific features and collaborate with the member team on shared surface experiments.
  • Work directly with Product Managers to track and measure the evolution of game-adjacent features.
  • Own the information flow of critical backend platform data for internal development teams.
  • Coach and inspire a high-performing team, providing guidance and mentorship.
