Job description

The Senior Software Engineer role at Netflix focuses on enhancing the Games SDK to improve game development and player experiences. The position is part of the Games Experiences Platform team, which serves as the integration layer between game developers and the Netflix ecosystem. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to build features and address developer pain points. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and a passion for creating seamless gaming experiences.

Requirements

  • Expertise in either Android or iOS platforms and a working proficiency in the other.
  • Exceptional coding skills across multiple languages and technology stacks such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, C/C++, and C#.
  • Strong experience building developer-facing SDKs, APIs, and libraries.
  • Experience with game engines such as Unity and Unreal, including native plugins and bindings.
  • Deep understanding of the technical landscape of mobile development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product features and foundational infrastructure for the Games SDK.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering partners to scope project roadmaps.
  • Engage with game development partners to understand developer pain points and troubleshoot issues.
  • Architect maintainable, performant client code with effective documentation.
  • Design code for testability and write automated tests to uphold product quality.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
