Job description

The role is for a seasoned engineer on the Customer Service Platform team at Netflix, focusing on building and maintaining a technology ecosystem that enhances customer service. The team is responsible for integrating in-house and vendor solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. The engineer will work on both frontend and backend tasks, with an emphasis on innovation in Generative AI. Collaboration with various teams and stakeholders is essential to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks such as React
  • Solid experience in object-oriented programming in Java, C++, or similar languages
  • Solid experience with API technologies such as GraphQL, gRPC, and REST
  • Solid knowledge of data structures, database schema design, and modern design patterns
  • Extensive experience integrating internal and/or third-party services
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services

Responsibilities

  • Ideate, build, test, and deploy robust features that meet technical and business objectives
  • Collaborate closely with Netflix engineering teams, product stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Maintain a platform mindset to handle massive end-user traffic and integrate vendor solutions
  • Transform the technology ecosystem from legacy applications to a modern hybrid architecture
  • Focus on operational efficiency for both agents and customers

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
