Job description

The role is for a senior technical leader within the Decisioning & Optimization engineering team at Netflix Ads, focusing on real-time ad decisioning and optimization. The team is responsible for delivering relevant ads while balancing revenue goals and member experience. The position involves both coding and influencing architectural direction across the organization. The ideal candidate will tackle complex problems in ad optimization and work closely with various teams to ensure seamless model productionization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years building distributed systems and backend services at large scale
  • 3+ years of experience in the ads domain
  • Deep experience with ML model serving infrastructure and real-time inference
  • Experience in building and operating core ad tech systems such as ad servers and bidders
  • Strong understanding of ad serving concepts including inventory management and member ad experience quality
  • Proven track record of technical leadership across multiple teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction of the Decisioning & Optimization team including architecture reviews and incident leadership
  • Architect and evolve the real-time ad decisioning optimization path under strict latency and throughput constraints
  • Scale the ads model serving infrastructure to support concurrent hot-path ML models with low latency
  • Collaborate with Science and Platform teams for seamless model productionization and algorithm deployment
  • Build simulation and containerized testing frameworks for offline validation of marketplace changes
  • Design and implement real-time pacing systems for budget delivery accuracy
  • Develop and scale goal-based delivery optimization for dynamic budget allocation
  • Drive modularization and platform-thinking to build reusable components
  • Ensure operational excellence in reliability, observability, and deployment automation

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
