The role focuses on improving forecasting models for Netflix's subscription business, working closely with senior researchers and data science teams. The Subscription Revenue DSE team is dedicated to pricing research and business forecasting, ensuring accurate projections of subscriber growth and revenue. This position requires a strong understanding of subscription dynamics and the ability to incorporate various data signals into models. The ultimate goal is to provide actionable insights for decision-makers regarding pricing strategies.
Requirements
- Solid grasp of subscription business dynamics, including acquisition, ARPU, and churn interactions.
- Strong expertise in forecasting methods such as time series and regression-based approaches.
- Experience in building production forecasting systems, including backtesting and monitoring.
- Ability to incorporate macro and external signals into forecasting models.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience in ML and statistical libraries.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in statistics, economics, computer science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent applied experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and productionize forecasting models for Netflix's subscription business.
- Enhance existing scenario modeling and simulation tools to assess pricing impacts.
- Contribute to the forecasting pipeline, including model development and monitoring.
- Partner with Finance & Strategy and Product leadership to translate forecast outputs into business recommendations.
