The Senior Analytics Engineer will lead the analytics methodology for advertiser-facing reporting within the Ads Business Analytics & Tools team at Netflix. This role focuses on driving metric consistency across the ad platform and ensuring the accuracy of reporting as the platform scales. The engineer will work closely with product managers and data engineering teams to establish and maintain metric definitions and data contracts. This position is essential for supporting the growth of the advertising platform and enhancing the overall product experience for advertisers.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in SQL and Python with experience in semantic modeling and metric computation.
- Ad-tech experience with knowledge of external data quality standards.
- Ability to drive alignment and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Maestro.
- Familiarity with API design and integration, including GraphQL and REST.
Responsibilities
- Lead the methodology for reporting and serve as the dedicated Analytics Engineer for campaign reporting capabilities.
- Drive metric consistency across the ad platform in partnership with various teams.
- Extend the Ads Metric Catalog by writing metric definitions and developing governance workflows.
- Partner closely with the Campaign Reporting PM to define how metrics are calculated and validated.
- Participate in cross-functional governance to ensure metric definitions stay aligned across modules.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
