The Games Platform team at Netflix is seeking a highly technical senior test engineer to enhance the quality strategy and test infrastructure for gaming across various platforms. This role involves empowering game developers by integrating Netflix's technologies into the gaming ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CI/CD pipeline design and test automation, particularly for embedded devices. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality gaming experiences.
Requirements
- Deep experience in CI/CD pipeline design and test automation infrastructure.
- Experience automating test workflows on embedded or consumer electronics devices.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with graphics APIs such as WebGL, WebGPU, or WebAssembly.
- Experience working with game engines such as Unity3D or Unreal.
- Understanding of game performance metrics relevant to game streaming.
- Experience with real device orchestration or device farm infrastructure.
- Strong skills in identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and adapt quickly.
- Familiarity with using LLM/AI based tools for test generation.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion the overall testing strategy and quality roadmap for the Games Platform team.
- Own the test and certification infrastructure for the team, integrating with shared tooling.
- Establish game performance baselines across a range of devices.
- Build and maintain CI pipelines to catch regressions before they reach game teams.
- Validate platform behavior across multiple game engines and device targets.
- Partner closely with platform engineering, SDK, and game studio teams to debug issues.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
