Job description

The Technical Product Manager role at Netflix focuses on driving the strategy and evolution of application development platforms within the Content Foundations team. This team builds technology to enhance Netflix's content operations from concept to streaming. The role aims to reduce cognitive load for engineers by simplifying the software development lifecycle and integrating AI-native capabilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact how content is created, managed, and delivered to millions of members worldwide.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in Product Management building and scaling technical developer platforms or workflow automation tools.
  • Deep technical fluency in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and the software development lifecycle.
  • A developer-centric mindset that views internal platforms as products that must delight their users.
  • Strategic thinking ability to connect technical platform capabilities to broader business goals.
  • High AI literacy with experience launching or integrating AI-enabled developer tools.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and align cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the long-term vision and roadmap for foundational application platforms.
  • Identify and eliminate friction points for Netflix engineers to simplify developer experience.
  • Champion a 'no-ops' mindset where platform tooling abstracts operational complexity.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to drive migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.
  • Define and track metrics related to platform reliability and adoption.
  • Act as the primary advocate for the application developer platform and represent the team's work to senior leadership.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
