Job description

The Principal Software Engineer, UX role focuses on leading the architecture and adoption of an enterprise design system within the Asset Management Technology Foundations team. This senior, hands-on position requires a strong emphasis on user experience principles and collaboration between design and engineering. The team is dedicated to providing reusable software components and frameworks that enhance application experiences across various platforms. The role also involves ensuring design consistency and accessibility across a complex application ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience building and scaling enterprise design systems including tokens, theming, and component libraries.
  • Proven ability to translate UX design into reusable engineering assets adopted across large ecosystems.
  • Hands-on experience with component ecosystems such as PrimeNG or equivalent UI libraries.
  • Deep expertise with Figma and modern design-to-development workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, quality, and adoption of the enterprise design system.
  • Translate user experience principles into scalable, reusable, and accessible design system assets.
  • Ensure that the design system is user-centered and production-ready.
  • Drive UX consistency across multi-application platforms including Desktop, Web, and Mobile.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to ensure fidelity between design and implementation.
  • Create prototypes, interaction patterns, and conduct UX validations as needed.
  • Integrate AI tooling into the design system lifecycle for enhanced design generation and validation.
