Job description
This position is for a mainframe developer/support engineer within the Transfer of Assets (TOA) team, focusing on the mainframe code base for TOA products in the Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology organization. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing new requirements, debugging production issues, and ensuring timely remediation of incidents. The role requires close collaboration with business partners and product teams to enhance application availability, resilience, and stability. A highly motivated individual is needed to quickly learn the TOA system and contribute to ongoing projects.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
- Good understanding of the CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.
- Familiarity with mainframe and DB2 tools, including File-Aid, scheduler, and debugger tools.
- Good understanding of distributed applications and systems.
- Exposure to the brokerage/finance domain, with specific knowledge of asset movement products being an advantage.
- Prior experience in highly transactional, fault-tolerant, and data-driven systems.
- Ability to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them.
- Ability to work with different teams across various geographical locations.
- Ability to diagnose problems and generate effective solutions.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and tools.
