Job description
The L7 Software Engineer role at Netflix is focused on driving the growth of the subscriber base and enhancing the value derived from each member. The Growth Engineering team works on acquisition, retention, and billing systems, providing foundational support for the consumer web application platform. This position involves solving complex problems that impact the organization and providing technical leadership and mentorship. The role requires collaboration with senior engineering leadership and experienced engineers to tackle significant technical challenges.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional software development experience as an individual contributor software engineer.
- Demonstrated success in setting the technical direction for engineering projects and making architectural decisions.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and supporting highly available and fault-tolerant systems in production.
- Expert understanding of the development of full-stack consumer software products at scale.
- Experience developing products that are A/B tested rigorously and familiarity with Data Science Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical and architectural direction for the systems owned by Growth Engineering.
- Provide strategic and tactical oversight to maintain, extend, and modernize current systems.
- Partner with senior engineering leadership to solve technical challenges and impact the business.
- Assist in the career development of others by mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues.
