Job description
The Principal Software Engineer role at Fidelity involves joining a centralized Platform Engineering team to develop next-generation platform capabilities. This position combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and focuses on optimizing CI/CD pipelines and building automation solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Expertise in Python and/or core Java technologies and frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as EKS and Docker.
- Experience with technologies including Spring, REST/Web Services, Maven, JSON, Apache Tomcat, Swagger, and Message Queues.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cucumber, and FitNesse for automation frameworks.
- Experience with SQL databases, preferably Oracle, and building complex SQL queries.
- Strong experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using tools like Concourse, GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Veracode, and uDeploy.
- Ability to utilize AI capabilities to generate code and improve productivity.
Responsibilities
- Work with product management to decompose strategic outcomes into deliverable releases.
- Build scalable, resilient, cloud-based systems aligned with long-term strategy.
- Provide outstanding support, including on-call support when necessary.
- Deliver platform strategy through high-quality iterative releases that continually provide features to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior software engineers.
