Job description

Netflix is seeking exceptional individuals to join their Applied Machine Learning Research team as full-time Research Scientists. The role focuses on driving applied research by conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and validating innovative algorithmic solutions. Candidates will explore and apply state-of-the-art AI and machine learning techniques, particularly in large language models and other foundation models. Collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams is essential, as is a passion for solving real-world problems at scale.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Masters in Computer Science or related fields
  • 6+ years of research experience with a track record of delivering quality results
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning
  • Practical experience in LLM development
  • Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Drive applied research by conceptualizing and designing innovative algorithmic solutions
  • Implement and validate state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques
  • Develop production-ready systems while exploring LLM pretraining and fine-tuning
