The Engineering Manager for the People Applications team at DoorDash will lead a high-performing team of full stack engineers focused on building and scaling applications that enhance talent acquisition, compensation, and employee experience. This role emphasizes collaboration across functions to ensure that technical solutions align with the goals of DoorDash's people team. The manager will also drive the adoption of AI in product development to improve efficiency and innovation. This hybrid position reports to the Senior Manager of Enterprise App Engineering.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams of 5 or more engineers
- 7+ years of industry experience in software development, ideally in HR-related applications
- Extensive experience in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Experience with Generative AI development and fine-tuning
- Deep technical background with NodeJs/TypeScript, React, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of full stack engineers across multiple locations.
- Partner with the team to define the architectural roadmap.
- Oversee the development of core People Application product experiences.
- Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into user-first solutions.
- Establish best practices in development processes, testing, release management, and monitoring.
- Leverage AI and automation to improve developer velocity and business outcomes.
