The Senior/Staff Deep RL Engineer will be part of the DD Labs team, focusing on designing, training, and deploying deep reinforcement learning policies for real-time driving decisions in autonomous vehicles. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of RL policies, from problem formulation to on-vehicle inference. The team emphasizes using JAX for a seamless transition from training to deployment without the need for C++ rewrites. Candidates will contribute to building robust systems that leverage large-scale fleet data for continuous improvement.

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in reinforcement learning and deep learning.
• Proficiency in using AI coding tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience training RL agents at scale, preferably in robotics or autonomous driving.
• Proficiency in JAX or a similar functional ML framework.

• Formulate complex driving tasks as reinforcement learning problems with well-shaped reward functions.
• Design and train model-based deep reinforcement learning agents using GPU-accelerated simulation.
• Build and maintain distributed training infrastructure in JAX across large compute clusters.
• Develop optimization systems that automatically improve code and iterate on RL policies with minimal human intervention.
