Job description

The Global Payments Experiences Engineering Manager at Stripe is responsible for leading a team focused on integrating new payment methods and enhancing Stripe's systems for merchants worldwide. This role involves deep engagement in engineering and design processes while mentoring and guiding a team of engineers. The manager will prioritize user needs and collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale.
  • 10+ years of full-time software development experience, with a strong background in backend development.
  • Experience working across geographies.
  • Experience leading teams with a growth charter, which have used experimentation to drive product usage and growth.
  • Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including back-end services and integrations with other Stripe primitives.
  • Understand user needs and pain points to prioritize engineering work and deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, partnerships, engineering platforms, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions.
  • Recruit top engineering talent in partnership with Stripe’s recruiting team to build a diverse and high-performing team.
  • Lead and manage a team of talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success.
  • Drive the execution of projects, overseeing the entire development lifecycle from planning to delivery, while maintaining high standards of quality and timely completion.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for your reports.
  • Set the team’s direction, from north star vision to goals, OKRs, and roadmap.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team.
