The Staff Software Engineer for the Machine Learning Platform at Stripe will serve as a technical lead and key contributor to the evolution of platforms that power Stripe's ML-driven products. The ML Platform team focuses on building reliable, low-latency systems that facilitate the development and deployment of machine learning models. • 10+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent domain expertise.
• A solid background in service-oriented architecture and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating production ML platforms in areas such as model training and serving.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.

• Take ownership of end-to-end architecture and system design for large, complex projects across the ML Platform.
• Define technical direction for ambiguous projects and transform user needs into platform strategy.
• Design system architectures for challenging ML Platform problems including model training and low-latency inference.
• Scope and lead large projects with significant business impact from requirements through to production operation.
• Mentor and grow other engineers while serving as a role model for software system design and implementation.
