Job description

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior technical position involves direct interaction with the Substation Electrical Team, focusing on project management, engineering, and business development. The role emphasizes client engagement, project execution, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The incumbent will coordinate with various engineering disciplines to deliver comprehensive design packages for utility and developer clients in North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation engineering and design
  • Experience within Power Delivery Substation Electrical consultancy businesses
  • PE License
  • Proficiency in critical Engineering Software such as SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, and WinIGS

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the Substation Electrical team in collaboration with leadership.
  • Support and deliver utility and developer projects from conceptual layout to construction support.
  • Coordinate with various engineering teams to develop complete design packages.
  • Review and perform quality assurance on engineering studies and detailed engineering packages.
  • Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, and Technical Lead to support client goals and business growth.
  • Mentor junior team members and conduct quality assurance on their work.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development.
