The Senior Operations Engineer role at Apple focuses on supporting critical systems within the Retail Engineering Store Operations & Support team. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting critical, customer-facing systems in a high-volume production environment.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with incident management platforms and issue tracking tools.
- 3+ years of practical experience with Splunk, including dashboard creation and alert configuration.
- 3+ years of experience performing structured root cause analysis using application logs and telemetry.
- Hands-on experience building and orchestrating workflows with AI-augmented operational tooling.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and the ability to diagnose connectivity issues.
- Experience with scripting languages for log analysis and operational workflow automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
- Proficiency in ITIL practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
Responsibilities
- Own deep technical expertise across critical systems including Point of Sale and Apple Financial Services.
- Detect and resolve issues impacting the global retail environment.
- Drive root cause analysis and deliver process improvements.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, SRE, and business teams.
- Build and extend GenAI agents and automation tools.
- Support the Apple Online Store and over 500 Apple Retail Stores with technical services.
