Job description

The Last Mile team is focused on enhancing package delivery from stations to customers' doorsteps through innovative technology. The Sr. Software Development Engineer will play a crucial role in developing solutions that utilize sensors in delivery vehicles and help design future fleets. This position requires a deep understanding of edge computing systems and cloud data analytics. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing applications at scale, particularly in consumer or industrial sectors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
  • Experience in embedded development using C/C++
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy edge computing software solutions for a globally connected fleet of smart delivery vehicles.
  • Develop and optimize embedded software for resource-constrained edge devices, ensuring real-time performance.
  • Build and optimize real-time data streaming systems for video, vehicle telematics, and location tracking.
  • Own the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to operational support.
  • Drive technical decisions on connected device protocols and communication standards across edge-to-cloud architecture.
