Job description

This role seeks experienced software engineers with a strong background in scalable streaming processing systems. The team focuses on enhancing Apple's data infrastructure and driving innovation through cutting-edge capabilities and tools. Engineers will collaborate with open source data experts to optimize and automate infrastructure management across data centers and cloud services. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to systems that support millions of users worldwide.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • BS or MS degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude as an engineer who has worked on distributed systems
  • At least 2 years of experience running production applications of Apache Flink or being a Committer to Apache Flink
  • Good knowledge of Apache Iceberg and Apache Kafka
  • Experience working on or building connectors from Flink to any of the data sources
  • Knowledge of Yarn, Kubernetes or other compute substrate

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy new features of Apple's internal data platform
  • Regularly contribute to open source projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation tools
  • Optimize cloud-based services to ensure effective scaling and high performance
  • Innovate on API development and integration for seamless communication between applications and services
