Job description

The Display Metrology System Engineer at Apple is a key role for individuals passionate about display technology and optical metrology. This position is part of a collaborative Display Technology team that focuses on designing and shipping innovative display products. The engineer will work on metrology systems design, development, validation, and production deployment during the New Product Introduction stage. The role emphasizes engineering excellence and encourages innovation across various disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience working in metrology of display technologies such as OLED, LCD, or LED.
  • Experience building metrology systems, including software scripting and optical instruments setup.
  • Familiarity with industrial optical instruments, especially imaging instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive outlook.
  • Programming skills in Matlab, Python, or C/C++.
  • Strong data analytics and visualization skills with tools like JMP or Python.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop objective solutions for calibrating, characterizing, and testing display modules and optical components.
  • Work on metrology systems design, development, validation, and production deployment during the New Product Introduction stage.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware cross-functional teams.
  • Own areas of responsibility and self-motivate to work independently.
  • Engineer solutions to meet project timelines.
  • Engage in some international travel as required by the position.
