Job description

The Apple Camera Architecture team is looking for a motivated leader to define future camera hardware requirements for a range of products. This role involves collaboration across various teams to optimize camera hardware solutions and integrate them with advanced software for superior imaging experiences. The ideal candidate will conduct system analysis and derive requirements from use cases while working closely with hardware and software teams. The focus is on delivering high-performance camera systems that meet market demands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in camera technologies and optical science.
  • Familiarity with optics, camera calibration, computer vision, image quality metrics, image sensor fundamentals, and image processing pipelines.
  • Experience in defining camera metrics and specifications based on product goals and user studies.
  • Understanding of important camera metrics and design tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive future camera hardware requirements and definitions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver camera performance and features.
  • Perform detailed system analysis and tradeoff evaluations.
  • Characterize and simulate optical systems to aid design and validation.
