The Engineering Director for Data Services at Apple will lead the team responsible for defining and managing the data strategy and platforms that support a diverse product portfolio. This role focuses on driving innovation in data engineering and database management, ensuring the effective operation of transactional and analytics data platforms. The successful candidate will work within the AI & Data Platforms team to streamline the adoption of generative AI across the organization. This position requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- At least 10 years of focused experience in data engineering and database management.
- Proven leadership in managing and scaling data services for complex, high-volume data ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in modern data architectures, data governance, and data security best practices.
- Strong understanding of data challenges and opportunities within consumer electronics, services, and manufacturing sectors.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) and integrating AI/ML models into data pipelines.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry or with stringent data compliance requirements.
