They work throughout the training lifecycle, optimizing models specifically for Apple silicon to ensure privacy and integration with the OS. The role involves tackling complex challenges in reinforcement learning, particularly in areas like reward modeling and agentic systems. Candidates will engage in applied research that directly impacts products used by millions of users.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with publications at top ML or NLP conferences.
- Proficient programming skills in Python and one of the deep learning toolkits such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Train models using reinforcement learning to enhance reasoning and coding capabilities.
- Develop autonomous coding agents that function within real repositories.
- Address complex problems such as RL with verifiable rewards and multi-turn RL for coding agents.
- Implement strategies for distillation and alignment of models across various capability stages.
- Optimize models for long-horizon tasks and manage context efficiently.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life.
