The Apple AFM Multilinguality / Machine Translation team is seeking exceptional researchers and scientists to develop advanced Apple Foundation Models that facilitate communication across language barriers. This role focuses on applied research in Multilingual Large Language Models and Machine Translation, aiming to enhance the capabilities of multilingual tasks within the Apple ecosystem. Candidates will work with cutting-edge language technologies and contribute to real-world applications such as the Translate app and Safari web page translation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning and natural language processing, including model training and neural machine translation.
• Experience developing AI/ML systems at scale in production or high-impact research environments.
• Knowledge of common deep learning toolkits such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in machine translation, large language models, and natural language processing.
• Ability to formulate research problems and implement solutions in Python, Bash, or Java/C/C++.
