The Senior Software Development Engineer role focuses on video compression and processing within the AWS Elemental team. This team is responsible for enhancing video quality and performance for AWS media services. You will work with advanced video technologies and utilize machine learning to solve customer challenges. The position offers the opportunity to impact millions of viewers globally through innovative video solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of video/image processing/compression experience
- Experience in practical work applying machine learning to solve complex problems
- Experience with SSE/AVX2/NEON is a plus
Responsibilities
- Improve the quality per bit in home-grown video encoders
- Design and incorporate machine learning components to enhance video quality
- Design and implement improved video filters, including scalers and deinterlacers
- Improve compute performance of video processing
