The Senior Software Development Engineer will architect an AI bidding platform that influences billions of daily ad decisions for a diverse range of advertisers. This role is part of the Advertiser Controls team within Amazon Sponsored Products and Brands, focusing on real-time bidding, generative AI, and experimentation infrastructure. The engineer will set technical strategies, make high-judgment decisions, and mentor other engineers. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• Experience with distributed systems at scale
• Experience with Generative AI technologies including large language models and model fine-tuning
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience in an online advertising role and familiarity with advertising products
• Experience developing, deploying, and managing AI products at scale

• Own the architecture and multi-year technical roadmap for the AI bidding platform.
• Design and lead the real-time proxy bidding engine that computes per-request bids.
• Build and optimize ML inference infrastructure that serves model outputs at bid-request time.
• Design and build scalable, low-latency agentic systems for AI-powered bidding optimization.
• Establish engineering standards and evaluation frameworks for AI systems.
• Drive architectural decisions that span multiple engineering teams.
• Frame ambiguous technical problems into clear engineering strategies.
• Proactively identify and eliminate systemic operational risks and architectural gaps.
• Mentor and develop engineers across the team.
• Represent the team in cross-organizational design reviews and influence technical direction.
