Job description
As an SDE in Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3), you will tackle complex problems at an unmatched scale, managing trillions of objects while ensuring high data durability. You will collaborate with talented engineers to enhance the S3 system, delivering features that improve customer experiences. This role emphasizes ownership, requiring you to maintain high standards in code quality and operational reliability. You will also engage in operational investigations to resolve customer-impacting issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Build services that persist and retrieve customer data in S3
- Design and implement new components and improvements to existing services
- Collaborate with other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in a regular on-call rotation to support S3's availability
- Conduct operational investigations to resolve customer-impacting issues
- Write documentation outlining solutions to complex problems
