Job description

Amazon is looking for a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support advanced High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) operations. This role involves being a key technical authority responsible for commissioning new facilities and deploying die casting technologies. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in aluminum and/or magnesium die casting production environments. The position requires strong technical execution and leadership skills to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in high-pressure die casting environments.
  • Deep expertise in die casting process development and production stabilization.
  • Strong experience in capital equipment strategy and facility startup.
  • Experience with integrated systems including machining and automation.
  • Familiarity with site selection activities and utility planning.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commissioning, installation, startup, and ramp-up of HPDC production equipment.
  • Serve as the senior process engineering technical authority during facility launches.
  • Drive production readiness and operational performance metrics during launch phases.
  • Define, develop, validate, and sustain robust die casting process parameters.
  • Develop and execute capital equipment strategies including procurement and installation planning.
  • Drive cross-functional execution across various teams to ensure seamless program launches.
  • Establish standardized production processes and operational documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Mentor and develop peers and junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex production challenges.
