Job description
The System Development Engineer will join a small, agile team focused on transforming the Legal department's technology infrastructure. This role involves designing and implementing automation solutions to streamline processes and reduce manual tasks. The engineer will work collaboratively with a team of six to balance strategic automation initiatives with operational excellence. Key areas of focus include API integration, cloud migration, and leveraging AI/ML technologies to enhance legal workflows.
Requirements
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- 3+ years of working with Windows server technologies
- Experience with AI/ML technologies
- Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and SQS
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience writing and publishing technical documents or equivalent
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives around AI/ML automation, integration, and knowledge management
- Design and implement automation solutions that integrate with third-party tools via APIs
- Lead the modernization and migration of on-premises services to cloud-based infrastructure on AWS
- Write, maintain, and enhance code for operational improvements including automated security updates
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs and identify automation opportunities
