Job description

The Systems Software Engineer position at KLA is a core function of software engineering focused on controlling hardware components within complex semiconductor manufacturing systems. The role requires a deep understanding of system and software architecture while mentoring junior team members. Successful candidates will work with cross-functional teams to develop software for industry-leading inspection products. Requirements

  • Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 2 years, Master's Level Degree or work experience of 4 years, Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 5 years.
  • Domain knowledge in areas such as Instrument Control SW, Image Processing, or Image Computing.
  • Demonstrated experience building highly scalable software systems.
  • Deep conceptual understanding of multi-threaded, multi-process, and distributed software systems.
  • Previous technical lead experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and roll out software solutions that enhance the capabilities of KLA inspection machines.
  • Communicate with interdisciplinary teams to understand system requirements and map them to software solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how the system works and provide software solutions for critical customer gaps.
  • Conduct trade-off studies, identify risk items, and suggest mitigation plans for next-generation systems.
  • Mentor junior team members in coding and cross-functional interactions with hardware and systems engineers.
