Job description
The Hardware Emulation Engineer role at Google Cloud focuses on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration by driving cutting-edge TPU technology. The engineer will work within a team to develop custom silicon solutions and maintain emulation infrastructure that supports ASIC projects. This position involves collaboration with designers, verification engineers, and software teams to ensure successful prototyping and verification of complex digital designs. The role is critical in meeting verification milestones and enhancing emulation methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with RTL design such as Verilog or System Verilog and simulation tools like VCS or Incisive.
- 1 year of experience with coding or scripting in languages such as C, C++, Perl, TCL, or Python.
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and upgrade the emulation infrastructure while serving as a primary interface to emulation vendors.
- Explore emulation methodologies, gather feedback from the team, and implement new emulation workflows.
- Enable emulation team members in debugging hardware, tooling, and project-specific issues.
- Integrate external interfaces on emulation platforms and develop standalone test cases for tool issues.
