Job description
The Network Engineer role at Google focuses on enhancing network systems and improving their performance, security, and manageability. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field and 3 years of experience in a Network Engineer-related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and 1 year of experience in a Network Engineer-related occupation is acceptable.
- 1 year of experience in datacenters and telecommunication network design and optimization.
- Experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to enhance scalability and user experience.
- Evaluate network system inefficiencies and design improved software and processes.
- Develop software to enhance the performance and security of network systems.
- Identify and resolve complex software and hardware network issues with minimal guidance.
- Create tools and automation to improve system reliability and operational velocity.
