Job description
The Bing organization is seeking a Senior Data and Applied Scientist to enhance predictive models, product analysis, and A/B experimentation methods. This role involves translating data insights into actionable metrics to guide product and strategic decisions for Bing and Microsoft AI. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to analyze the impact of numerous controlled experiments and develop forecast models to identify risks and opportunities. The position emphasizes a data-driven culture, ensuring that changes are made based on understood and positive impacts.
Requirements
- Doctorate in a relevant field and 1+ years of data science experience, or a Master's Degree and 3+ years, or a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with SQL-like query languages.
- Hands-on experience in design and problem-solving skills with programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C++.
- Ability to work independently and influence others while demonstrating solid communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with search engines and online instrumentation.
- Experience with large datasets and an interest in consumer online search behaviors.
- Experience in building machine learning models on large-scale data.
Responsibilities
- Develop highly accurate forecast models to provide insights for business and product risks and opportunities.
- Drive impact analysis for features critical to agile course correction and business investments.
- Define and track key organizational success metrics for impact and ensure reliable processes to track contributions from individual feature initiatives.
- Define, build, and track success metrics for Bing customer satisfaction and retention.
- Perform hands-on analysis of large-scale telemetry data using advanced statistical methods and algorithms.
- Develop tools to analyze metric movements to help feature teams understand the impact of their changes.
