Job description
In this role at Apple, you will manage the research and development, selection, and implementation of manufacturing processes for consumer packaging parts and assemblies. The focus is on developing innovative solutions that align with Apple's product and environmental goals. You will collaborate with various teams, including Product Design and Materials Engineering, to leverage manufacturing capabilities and drive new material development. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of work experience in manufacturing process development, manufacturing or product quality, tooling and fixture design, or automation development.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Packaging, or Chemical Engineering or relevant manufacturing work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Design For Manufacturing concepts such as GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, and SPC.
- Demonstrated experience in employing analytical tools to solve complex problems.
- Ability to learn, implement, and use statistical tools for data-driven decision making.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative solutions to meet Apple's product and environmental goals.
- Lead external and internal partners in the development and execution of process and quality development for new product introduction.
- Establish industry relationships and engage experts to enable innovative packaging solutions.
- Use high-quality data and analytics to drive decisions and influence cross-functional teams.
- Manage and coordinate new technology and material roadmaps for timely product delivery.
- Collaborate with Product Design and Materials Engineering to support new material development.
- Demonstrate scalability of new materials and processes to internal teams.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design and Marcom to propose product specifications for mass production.
