- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Simulation software experience using ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools.
- Experience in material testing and failure analysis.
- Background in solid mechanics and materials science.
- Experience with explicit dynamics and thermal simulations.
- Experience in building and calibrating non-linear material models.
- Experience with electro-magnetic simulations and analysis of voice coil motors (VCM).
- Experience working with adhesive joints and analyzing adhesive failure modes.
- Knowledge of Python, Abaqus user subroutine development, and iSight.
- Familiarity with ANSYS Icepack and Maxwell, COMSOL, and ANSA.
- Experience in CAD modeling with NX or Solidworks.
Responsibilities
- Utilize simulation tools to evaluate and guide the design of camera components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and develop camera hardware.
- Participate actively in the design process to impact the final product.
- Conduct material testing and failure analysis to ensure quality.
- Develop and calibrate non-linear material models for simulations.
- Analyze and predict adhesive failure modes in camera components.
- Perform explicit dynamics and thermal simulations to enhance design accuracy.
- Engage in electro-magnetic simulations related to camera hardware.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
