Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist for Rendering/Path Tracing to drive innovation in real-time graphics. This role involves defining the next generation of path tracing and related systems challenges while collaborating with a talented team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rendering theory and practical coding skills. You will be responsible for developing advanced rendering algorithms and transferring successful ideas to product teams.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience with a strong publication record in rendering algorithms.
- 10+ years of combined experience as a graduate student, industry or academic researcher, rendering engineer, or applied researcher.
- Demonstrated experience developing advanced rendering algorithms and a track record of high-quality artifacts.
- Strong coding skills with knowledge of C/C++, GPU programming models, parallel programming, and Python.
- Deep understanding of rendering theory, sampling, and graphics systems.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, invent, publish, and productize novel methods to improve path traced imagery.
- Implement prototypes of research ideas and transfer successful concepts to product teams.
- Collaborate with NVIDIA researchers, engineers, and external academics.
- Help define team research topics and guide other researchers and interns.
