The Principal Software Engineer will actively contribute to the code base and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance Fidelity's applications. This role focuses on leveraging critical thinking to translate storyboards and use cases into innovative software solutions. The engineer will work within the Strategic Advisors Technology team, emphasizing engineering excellence and technology innovation. The position requires a strong understanding of database technologies and experience in building enterprise cloud-enabled distributed systems.

• Expertise in writing Oracle SQL and PLSQL code, performing data analysis, and data modeling.
• Experience in designing and implementing data APIs and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining batch jobs using ETL/Informatica and Autosys.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable applications.
• Experience with acceptance test driven development (ATDD) and writing automated tests for database code.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Snowflake and S3 is a bonus.
• Knowledge of mid-tier technologies like Java and messaging technologies.
• Comfortable working in an Agile software delivery environment with CI/CD tools.

• Lead the design and implementation of software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Engage in product quality plan efforts, including test case development and regression testing.
• Contribute to enhancing engineering practices in the areas of ATDD and CI/CD.
• Provide leadership guidance and mentorship to empower team members.
• Collaborate with a global team of developers to promote standard methodologies for software engineering.
