Job description

This position is for a Principal Software Engineer/Developer focused on designing and implementing web applications in a financial services environment. The role involves applying test-driven design concepts, developing testing frameworks, and improving processes within the Software Development Lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with architecture design teams and provide technical leadership while mentoring junior team members. The main focus is on delivering high-quality software solutions using Java Spring framework and AWS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience in the same role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining web-based financial services applications using Java, Spring Boot, and client-side technologies.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in REST patterns and deploying Software as a Service (SaaS) in Cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture design teams and define application-level architecture.
  • Develop applications on complex projects and recommend testing tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables and develop comprehensive documentation.
  • Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects and meet project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advise on risk assessment and management strategies for projects and coordinate project schedules.
  • Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project and technology issues.
  • Mentor junior team members and perform complex technical and functional analysis.
