Job description

This role focuses on combining operational excellence with development experience to deliver high-scale, resilient services. The position emphasizes the integration of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices with DevOps processes to ensure business-critical systems remain available. The candidate will work on enhancing application resiliency through chaos engineering and observability. Collaboration with production support teams and coaching peers on SRE and DevOps practices are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a related field and three years of experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer.
  • Demonstrated expertise in improving application resiliency using chaos engineering tools.
  • Experience with advanced observability practices in production environments.
  • Proficiency in migrating and maintaining cloud applications using AWS or Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop chaos testing capabilities using multiple chaos tools.
  • Enhance the organization’s internal chaos framework for streamlined executions and reporting.
  • Provide technical expertise in the adoption of chaos engineering by application teams.
  • Conduct chaos tests on business-critical applications to identify weaknesses.
  • Activate observability for critical applications with recommended service level indicators and objectives.
  • Utilize modern monitoring tools to improve issue detection and response times.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines with security and quality checks.
  • Automate repetitive activities using scripting languages.
  • Implement and support solutions based on cloud platforms and container orchestration.
  • Onboard and evaluate new cloud services to enhance resiliency.
  • Participate in incident management and postmortems.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and provide qualitative feedback.
  • Build processes to adapt to risks and maintain business operations.
  • Coach peer SREs and application teams on SRE and DevOps practices.
  • Implement Agile methodologies in project completion.
