Job description
This role involves leading the design and implementation of business-wide web-based applications while providing technical leadership to team members. The position focuses on establishing software engineering standards and driving strategic decisions within an Agile framework. The candidate will leverage their expertise in cloud technologies and web architecture to deliver high-functioning software solutions. Additionally, the role includes advising senior management on technical strategy and fostering team development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field, or a Master's degree in a similar field.
- Six years of experience as a Director of Software Engineering or closely related occupation, or four years with a Master's degree.
- Experience developing web-based applications using Java, Angular, and HTML in a financial services domain.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing best practices for the full software creation process, including coding standards and test automation.
- Experience with project management and team coordination in an Agile development environment.
Responsibilities
- Translate and incorporate business vision and strategy into architectural strategy recommendations.
- Participate in high-level, cross-functional architecture design teams.
- Consult on the development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.
- Oversee the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
- Initiate and drive project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
- Provide leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams on complex organization-wide projects.
- Research and recommend new technologies to enhance business operations.
- Regularly provide guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
