The Senior Software Development Engineer will lead the technical direction of deployment and patching systems for EBS, focusing on secure and autonomous server software deployment. The role involves architecting deployment pipelines and automated security patching workflows that ensure zero customer impact. The engineer will collaborate with teams across EC2 and EBS to enhance deployment safety and efficiency. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and code reviews
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Architect and own deployment pipelines that deliver EBS server software across all AWS regions with zero customer impact
• Design and build automated security patching workflows to maintain manifest consistency
• Build safe deployment orchestration for stateful storage to ensure no data loss during updates
• Design automated canary analysis and rollback mechanisms to detect deployment issues
• Build secure operational infrastructure for deployment observability and autonomous operations
• Drive toward secure, autonomous server deployments through AI-powered automation
• Extend deployment and patching capabilities to new partitions and edge environments
• Lead design reviews and establish best practices for deployment safety across the team
