Apple Maps is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team focused on evaluating search services, features, and monetization initiatives. The role involves collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, and Marketing to define success metrics and evaluate product performance. Data Scientists will work in a fast-paced environment, driving data-informed decisions through various analytical methods. The position offers the opportunity to own significant projects and impact the Maps organization.

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, or a similar quantitative domain
• 3+ years of experience with data analysis at web scale or relevant work experience
• Proficient in Python
• Proficient in at least one database language such as SQL or Snowflake
• Solid communication and presentation skills
• Prior industry experience with AB testing and causal inference
• Experience in information retrieval
• Experience with large data sets using technologies like Hadoop and Spark
• Experience writing pipelines for automating analytics tasks at scale
• Experience mentoring junior data scientists and leading projects of varying sizes and scopes
• Experience with monetization analytics

• Evaluate Apple Maps search services and features to drive product improvements
• Define success metrics and evaluate product performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Conduct experiment design, AB testing, and funnel analysis to inform decisions
• Utilize AI/ML modeling and data mining techniques to analyze user behavior and business opportunities
• Translate business questions into technical requirements and apply statistical techniques for solutions
• Mentor junior data scientists and lead projects of varying sizes and scopes
