Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its design team in Seattle, Washington. This role involves designing resilient and cost-effective Data Center facilities while ensuring world-class uptime for customers. The engineer will work closely with a team of Architects, Engineers, and Designers to solve complex problems and innovate within the field. The position offers the opportunity to impact projects globally and requires a strong understanding of structural design principles.

• 5+ years of experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.
• 2+ years of experience with design of Data Center, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities.
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE.
• Planning to obtain a Professional Engineering License within the next 12 months.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
• Detailed understanding of tilt-up and precast concrete structures, structural steel systems, seismic design, wind loading, snow loading, and forensic analysis of building design and construction defects.
• Ability to travel internationally.

• Design prototypical Data Center facilities and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Review milestone drawings by consultants and solve large-scale implementation issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations for the region.
• Carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Conduct value engineering for building structural systems.
• Design and review non-structural components and non-building structures.
