Job description

The IT Support Engineer I role at Amazon focuses on providing high-quality technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of troubleshooting straightforward problems while managing local technical projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in IT support.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT-related fields such as networking or system administration.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment.
  • 2+ years of networking experience, including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP.
  • 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience.
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, or Microsoft hardware installation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects and maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Support customers from multiple buildings in the area and remote customers.
  • Travel within the local or regional area to support customers.
