Job description

The Data Engineer for Prime Video's Global Brand Insights team will focus on building data pipelines and generating insights to enhance customer understanding and value delivery. This role involves collaborating with a dynamic team of insights professionals and requires a strategic-minded engineer with a strong background in data-driven business recommendations. The ideal candidate will work with large datasets and complex technical contexts, leveraging their expertise in data modeling and cloud technologies. The position offers opportunities to innovate and improve data infrastructure for significant business impact.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with one or more query languages such as SQL or HiveQL
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of data schema design principles
  • Experience using BI tools like Tableau for data visualization
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience with AWS services including S3 and Redshift
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Experience architecting solutions on AWS

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize data models and pipelines for complex global datasets
  • Own ongoing data quality and self-service access to datasets for business intelligence
  • Improve metadata for better AI results
  • Collaborate with research program leads and data scientists to maintain stable data solutions
  • Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects
  • Optimize resource usage including system hardware and data storage
  • Participate actively in code reviews and design discussions
  • Resolve root causes of complex problems while balancing stakeholder requirements
  • Stay current on innovations in the field, particularly in AI applications
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting and dashboards for stakeholder insights
