Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join the Data Center Global Services team. This role focuses on Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) design standards across AWS's global data center portfolio. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure excellence in data center control systems. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation and contribute to the world's largest cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise in building operations and control systems.
  • Create and disseminate project-specific Scope of Work documents and specifications.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for BMS/EPMS controls standards.
  • Lead collaboration with construction teams and project managers.
  • Evaluate and approve Modbus Device Templates for electrical meters.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support global data center control systems.
  • Drive innovation of new solutions to support team initiatives.
