As an Amazon Power Generation Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle engineering support to AWS Data Centers' Power Generation Systems. You will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of power generation technologies. This role involves troubleshooting, compliance, and performance optimization while working on innovative projects at a global scale. You will also engage in training and knowledge transfer to build regional expertise within the team.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
- Experience performing complex business case analysis and presenting justifications to management.
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with multiple power generation technologies including diesel generators and fuel cells.
- Deep understanding of environmental regulations related to emissions and fuel storage.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and/or advanced degree in engineering or related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis for power generation system failures.
- Support operational issues with training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for power generation services.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits including on-site visits to data centers.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects for power generation systems.
- Serve as Single Threaded Owner for critical power generation investigations.
- Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting related to air quality and emissions.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for power generation systems.
- Provide senior engineering support for investments in emerging technologies.
